Flooring Sales Specialist

Are you goal oriented, career driven, friendly and enjoys working with the public? We are looking for an exceptional Flooring Sales Specialists to join our team at NW Design Center; a small Veteran owned and locally operated company serving all those who served!

Under the supervision of the Sales Lead Manager, the Flooring Sales Specialist is responsible for providing A+ service to customers who come for purchases at NW Design Center; greeting and acknowledging customers in a friendly way as they enter the store providing information about merchandise to customers, assisting and directing them to the right area where they can get what they are looking for. Adhering to all company procedures and policies assigned to the Flooring Sales Specialist.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $15.50 /hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Weekends required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Order/Receive Product

  • Review policy for ordering and receiving product.

  • Place orders with vendors/mill for merchandise.

Maintain a level of basic knowledge about flooring products

  • Review with Sales Lead flooring product lines offered by manufacturers.

  • Update product knowledge on an as-needed basis through review of online resources of vendors, manufacturers' literature and industry publications.

  • Review knowledge and ask questions of manufacturers' representatives on an as-needed basis.

 

Client Notifications

  • Place calls and/or email clients to notify them that ordered merchandise has been received and is available for pickup.

 

Telephone Handling

  • Answer and screen telephone calls.

  • Direct calls to proper sales person, staff, or manager as available.

  • Screen non-sales calls and answer or direct requests, as appropriate.

Showroom Maintenance

 

Assist in maintaining showroom cleanliness and organization of samples.

  • Replace samples removed from displays during showroom visits, and assist other showroom personnel in returning sample materials to displays as time permits.

  • As requested by Sales Lead, work with showroom personnel to reset the showroom and displays

  • Maintain showroom neatness and cleanliness by removing unnecessary or discarded materials, packaging, or papers.

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate for this position should possess a strong administrative background. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Good follow-up skills and attention to details are requirements for this position.

 

Education and/or Experience

  • At least 2-3 years of Flooring Sales and/or Retail experience a plus.

  • Office Administration and/or Office Management or related experience.
